MESSAGES FROM OUTER SPACE!
Leslie Street Films is the creation of Mallak Brooks Bey (Malcolm Brooks) as a vehicle to send messages to the world from outer space. These messages are meant to entertain, inspire, educate, make you laugh, cry, and think, but most of all drive you to want love, peace, truth, freedom, and justice for your fellow man. These messages are scheduled to come by way of motion pictures. Leslie Street Films can be thought of as a Messenger. The Messenger has come to do its work. Mallak Brooks Bey founded Leslie Street Films, and the name reflects the positive memories from the street he grew up on. We are a passionate group of filmmakers and creators endeavoring to fulfill our mission to inspire, educate, and entertain people worldwide.
We’ve been in the film industry since the early 90s. Over the years our passions have grown and are more than ever determined to bring these exciting projects to the world. We earn our “street cred” from the LA CONSERVATORY WRITING COURSE held in at AME Church on Western and 79th Street in Los Angeles for three years. An industry veteran taught the class. This course produced two notables ANTOINE FISHER and NEGEST LIKKE.
The Founder also had the acting bug first. It is what drew him to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Along the way, he realized that writing, producing, and directing were most exciting to him. In 1996 he switched gears and wrote, produced, and directed his first project a short film called “THE REVOLUTIONARIES” which eventually became his first feature film “HEROES!”
Years later came his second film called “SEARCHING FOR LIFE” which can be seen on Amazon Prime Video
Leslie Street Films is now poised to make a big splash with “HIP HOP DREAMS!”
